The Gili Islands are a popular destination for all visitors of Bali. The mini island chain consists of 3 small islands – Gili Trawangan (aka Gili T), Gili Meno, and Gili Air. All 3 islands are located just off of the coast of Lombok, Bali’s neighbouring sister island. I recommend reading my Gili Trawangan: All you need to know, for a complete guide on where to stay, where to eat, and what to do, for a perfect holiday while you’re in Gili T.
If you’re looking for a reputable shuttle service that includes competitive fast boat ticket prices, then this booking is for you. If you’d like to book a private car & driver to transfer to Padang Bai Ferry Terminal without Fast Boat tickets, then you can simply book a Transfer to Padang Bai.
What to do in Gili?
The Gilis can be quite a unique experience, especially since motorized vehicles are prohibited on all 3 of the Gili Islands. That’s right! No loud cars or bikes, and no pollution. Therefore, you’ll be using bicycles if you don’t feel like walking. Bicycles in the Gili Islands can be rented for around 40,000 – 60,000 IDR per day ($4.00 – $6.00 AUD)
As you might have already imagined, there are a plentiful amount of beaches to sit back and enjoy the sun. You can also dedicate some time for Snorkeling in Gili Trawangan. Other than that, The Gili Islands are a great choice to get away from Bali for a short amount of time and experience a much simpler life.
How do I get to Gili?
Traveling to the Gili Islands is usually done via a Fast Boat / Ferry. The fastest route to the Gili Islands via Fast Boat is from the Padang Bai Fast Boat Harbour – which is located closer to the east of Bali.
For example, from Seminyak it will take approximately 1 hr and 45 mins to get to the Padang Bai Fast Boat Harbour with your driver. The Fast Boat takes approximately 1 hour and 30 mins – not too much of a distance if you aren’t a fan of sea travel.
What is the Fast Boat?
The term ‘Fast Boat’ generally refers vessels with a 80 – 200 passenger capacity with a 800 – 1500 HP engine and can travel at a maximum speed of 35 knots (65 km/h)
Most fast boats will have both upper and lower decks. The upper deck is open for you to enjoy the sun and ocean views during the ride.
What is and isn’t included?
The Transfer to Gili Island rates include being picked up from your hotel or villa and delivered to the Padang Bai Fast Boat Harbour by an English-speaking , trustworthy, and knowledgable driver, with an immaculately maintained 6-seater, air-conditioned SUV. Fuel and applicable taxes are included.
The Seating configuration is 1 in the front passenger seat, 3 in the rear, and 2 more rear-most fold-down seats for your luggage. If you prefer more room, you can choose to upgrade to a Toyota Innova, which is slightly larger and roomier, and far more comfortable for 4 passengers with lots of luggage.
Fast Boat Return Tickets from a reputable ferry service provider are also included. These include insurance and are non-refundable. Your driver will have your tickets ready upon arrival at the Padang Bai Fast Boat Harbour. These are open tickets – meaning, your return date is entirely up to you.
My rates are all-inclusive and there are no hidden costs.
