Tegenungan is the largest waterfall by volume of water and the closest and. most accessible for most holidaymakers staying at Nusa Dua, Kuta, Legian, Sanur, Seminyak or Ubud.
Because it’s the most popular waterfall in Bali the path from the car park down to the falls is lined with souvenir stalls and local warungs (cafes). There’s a toilet along the path just before the steps leading down into the valley.
To get to Tegenungan Waterfall, drive from Denpasar to the Tegenungan Kemenuh village, in Gianyar. The drive is just 16 km or about 30 minutes.
You need to walk around 15 minutes, going down around 100 stone-paved steps to get to the river, then walk along the river bank to the foot of the falls.
Be warned, when the river is flowing hard after rainfall the current is exceptionally strong, so make sure you only cross the river to climb the falls from the opposite bank if you really know what you’re doing.
Tegenungun is one of the 4 destinations on the Best Waterfalls Near Seminyak Tour and is one of the 24 Best Waterfalls in Bali.
