  1. Dear Michael,

I am interested in the Nusa Penida snorkeling tour and would like to clarify if it is suitable for children, specifically a 9-year-old. The sentence in the description, “You will need a reasonable level of fitness and the minimum age is 15 years old with parents or guardians,” has left me a bit puzzled.

Could you kindly confirm if younger children are allowed to participate in the tour?

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Best regards,
    JP

    • Hi JP,

This is just the recommended age limit by the snorkelling operator.
Of course, this doesn’t forbid you from taking you little one to Nusa Penida.

      Safe travels,
      Michael

  2. Hi Michael,

Do you pick up from Mandira hotel in Legian?

We have an 8 and 10 year old and would like to do the tour with most amount of snorkeliing – which would you suggest?

    Claire

    • Hi Claire,

For Mandira Hotel, please select Legian as your pick-up location in the booking form.
Your best bet for snorkelling would be Nusa Pendida West + Snorkelling. You’ll have 4 different spots Manta Bay, Gamat Bay, Wall Point, and Gt Point.

      Safe travels,
      Michael

  3. Hello

We are two families (4 adults and 4 children between 3 and 6 years old). We would like a private tour to Nusa Penida for the day the first week of September to snorkel and explore the beaches. We would need it to be child friendly so want to avoid the really busy /touristy parts and the cliff hike. We are going to be based in Nusa Dua.

    Is this possible?

    • Hi Joanne,

It’s a bit difficult to avoid the touristy parts of Nusa Penida, since it’s a very small island and frequently visited by tourists. Nusa Penida is also a hilly island, so with most of the beaches you’ll want to access, the hiking is unavoidable.

      Safe travels,
      Michael

  4. Hi, Are life jackets and snorkelling gear included with the tour? How long approximately is spent snorkelling?

    • Hi Lynne,

For the Nusa Penida Day Tour with Snorkelling, the gear / equipment + life jackets are included.
The snorkelling itself is normally up to 2.5 – 3 hours.

      Safe travels,
      Michael

  5. Dear Michael,
I would like to have a day trip to Nusa Penida (with visit of Goa Giri Putri Temple which I don’t find on your proposals). For the hotel pick-up, I will be staying close to Lempuyang and therefor Padang Bai harbour would better suit I guess. At the end of the day, I will be staying in another hotel around Jimabaran (meaning Sanur or Serangan harbor I believe). Is it possible to have the day trip to Nusa Penida from and to different harbors ? Also, is it secure enough to have my suitcase in the car the whole day ? Don’t hesitate to contact me by email for the organization.
Thanks a lot for your advises.

    • Hi Carine,

You can book the Nusa Penida Day Tour and have your driver end your day in Jimbaran.
Regarding the harbours to Nusa Penida, the best option is Kusamba Harbour (since you’ll be in far East Bali).
Upon return, you can take the fast boat to Sanur Harbour. Your tickets will be organize on my end.
There your driver will pick you up and take you to your hotel in Jimbaran.

Regarding your luggage, it is safe to leave it in the car if you don’t mind.

      Safe travels,
      Michael

  6. I really would love to go but unable to pay by card. Can this trip be paid for by cash?

Failing that, could you recommend a local operator I can speak to that will provide this trip and take a cash payment?

    • Hi Hasan,

We won’t be able to accept cash. Payments need to be done prior to reserve your driver, car, and snorkelling equipment, etc.

      Safe travels,
      Michael

  7. We are travelling to Bali with our family next month and want to book some tours / prv drivers via your website. One of the tours we intend to book is “Nusa Penida West Tour + Snorkelling”. You have competive prices on your site for most tours, however this tour (4pers) is in total 390,31€.

We also looked at a number of other providers and came up with amounts between 120-200€ for a comparable tour. We wonder what the big difference could be, or whether the price on your website is correct.

    Looking forward hearing from you!

    • Hi Barend,

      This tour includes:
      – Private car & driver (to and from)
      – Snorkeling costs (equipment & boat)
      – Entrance fee to Nusa Penida
      – Entrance fees to attractions
      – Round trip Fast Boat tickets from Sanur to Nusa Penida

      Safe travels,
      Michael

  8. Hi if this is possible to do we would like the same option. could you tell me the cost of a boat for 2 or if you have this where we could join someone else for this option and only two snorkeling spots, one with manta and one with turtle viewing most likely, and parts of the east side as well as the west side too.

    • Hi Janine,

Usually the boat takes out groups of 8 to the water.
You do also have the option for do a private snorkeling trip for 2, but of course it will be more costly.
If that’s not an issue, I can have it organized for you.

      Safe travels,
      Michael

  9. Hi Michael,

Please advise this Nusa Penida Tour is good and comfortable for family as i am coming along with my wife and my son who is 8 year old. Hope there are no issues.

    Thanks,
    Jagadeesh

  10. Hi Mike,

Visiting Bali in mid Dec 2023. Have booked hotel in Nusa Dua. Some questions …

    1. When should I book my airport transfers?
    2. Can I book a car for a day – open ended? Not sure what we would do.
    3. Could you please point me to a site that has authentic info of things to do in Nusa Dua. The basic plan is “just chill”. Have visited Bali before and done a few day trips. This visit’s theme is “no rush” 🙂

  11. Hello! I just want to clarify something for your tours, your West tour lists things on the east side and your East tour lists stuff on the west side. Is this a mistake?

“Nusa Penida East Tour – Broken Beach. Angels Billabong, Kelingking Beach, Paluang Cliff, Crystal Bay Beach
Nusa Penida West Tour – Atuh Beach, Diamond Beach, Tree House Molenteng, King of five, Teletubies Hills”

Also, if I book the tour with Kelingking or the snorkel tour + Kelingking tour and stay in Nusa Penida without needing a ride back to where we came from, can we save any money doing this? We are moving from one place to another and wanted to book a driver for the switch over and the tour.

    • Hi Michael – you just picked up an epic editing mistake. Can’t believe I missed that! Thanks so much for the heads-up.

The ride back is literally the cheapest part of the tour, but I’m going to make an option where you get to drop the return journey. The issue is then going to be people asking to pre-book their return ferry tickets, which will be difficult for me to do, which is why so far it’s a one-day inclusive tour.

Let me work on it and get back to you.

      Safe travels, Michael

      • Hi Michael,

The article mention that “You will need a reasonable level of fitness and the minimum age is 15 years old with parents or guardians.”

Just double checking, since our kids are 5-6 years old, there is no option for us to do the Nusa Penida Tour?

        • Hi Emmanuel – the reason that is said is that the ferry companies carry a level of liability for passengers, especially as they often leave from Sanur (before the new ferry building is finished) off the beach – which is not a physical environment conducive to the safety of children.

Please understand this is not reticence on my part, I am simply doing the best I can to limit guests from making a mistake in judgement, on your behalf, based on experience and what the third-party operators are capable of with respect to safety.

I’ve caught that ferry a few times, and let me say with crystal clarity, I would not want to take any of my family under 15 on that trip. Hope this helps.

          Safe travels, Michael.

  12. Hi There,

How long is spent at each location ?
Is there flexibility to alter the stops? we are fast travellers, and don’t like to hang around the one spot for too long?

    • Hi Jess, how long you spend at each attraction is entirely up to you. You want to get out, get the shot and move on? No problem, just tell your driver. But remember, for the Nusa Penida Tour the fast boat returns to Bali at a set time.

      Safe travels, Michael

  13. Hi, i like to book a day tour to nusa penida for a group of 12 people, but the option is only up to 6 people. is there any other options for large group or i have to book 2 tour for 12 people.

    • Hi Desmond, the answer is you must book 2 tours of 6 people. We can get you on the same boat, but on Nusa Penida you will also be in 2 cars as the roads are too narrow for a minivan.

      Safe travels, Michael

  14. Hi Michael, Once we book an activity, what if it rains too much or we want to cancel or postpone the activity to another day? Do you help with refunds as well? I hear Bali rains are bad in December so I am unsure how to book for attractions.

    • Hi Naga, 50% of your booking can be refunded if cancelled outside 7 days of your tour date. This is to compensate our drivers as they would have refused other jobs to confirm your reservation. Otherwise, no refunds or date changes permitted.

      Safe travels, Michael

  15. Hi Michael. We have a group of 8 people. Is it possible to book a tour for that size for this tour and the Ubud tour? I wasn’t sure if we would have to book 2 separate tours of 4 or if it is possible to book the mini van for the tours. Thank you!

    • Hi Matt – for the Nusa Penida Tour you are better off booking 2 tours of 4 people. For an Ubud Tour, you can book a minivan and specify the South Bali option. You can then let your driver know what your preferred itinerary is on the day.

      safe travels, Michael

  16. Hi Michael – is the Nusa Penida + Snorkeling tour flexible? I’m interested in booking but only stopping at 2 spots for snorkeling and making our way East to see some attractions as part of the day.

It’s unclear if the snorkeling tour is on a boat with other people and therefore would have to hit all four snorkel spots.
