Bali is world-renowned for swimming on white-sand beaches, but there are also snorkelling adventures to be had, and swimming with Manta Rays in the waters around Nuse Penida is an unforgettable experience. Our private one-day Manta Bay Snorkelling Tour takes in both swimming with the manta rays as well as two other of Nusa Penida’s iconic attractions — Angel’s Billabong and Kelingking Lookout (T-rex Island).
Transfer to Nusa Penida
After picking you up at your hotel or villa we head to Sanur for the fast boat to Nusa Penida, located just 20 km east of Sanur, Bali.
Manta Bay
This tour actually takes in snorkelling at one or more of 4 different locations known for Manta Rays — Manta Bay, Gamat Bay, Wall Point and GT Point.
Your skipper will decide the best spots on the day for swimming with manta rays, as he will cruise around looking for the telltale signs of the dark shapes floating along below the surface.
Angel’s Billabong
During low tide the pool is full with the ocean falling away below the rocky edge, creating a perched lake.
At higher tides, the view can be spectacular as the tides can create massive crashing waves around the Billabong’s surrounding cliff face.
It’s worth noting the tides around Angel’s Billabong can be treacherous and extreme caution is required. Unwary tourists have been known to be drowned after being caught by incoming waves and dragged out to see.
Kelingking (T-rex) Lookout
The last stop on the tour is the unique views overlooking Kelingking Beach and the T-rex headland.
