The Forge Bali – All you need to know about Bali’s 24h Pub

Sitting in the heart of Seminyak is The Forge Bali, a 24-hour gastropub. You read that right – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – with an everlasting happy hour and daily food and drink promotions.

This restaurant and bar has seriously become a borderline tourist attraction on its own, being really popular among tourists, expats, and locals. I personally know a handful of people who make their way directly to The Forge Bali right after arriving at Bali Airport.

Whether you’re looking for a nice place to enjoy dinner with the family, out for a few drinks with the lads and gals, or looking for somewhere to watch a live sports match, here’s all you need to know about The Forge Bali before you visit.

The Forge Bali Location

The Forge Bali is located on the busy Jalan Petitenget, nestled in between Ling-Ling’s Bali and Shooters Bali. It’s a 2-storey building with an industrial themed interior that reminds me of a sports bar in Manhattan or Downtown Toronto.

You have several seating options, each with its own vibe and comfort levels. I’d recommend making a reservation if you’re heading to The Forge Bali with a group to secure an ideal spot. If you’re there alone to catch a game, just grab a seat by the bar.

The street-side terrace has comfortable sofas and perfect for those who prefer to be outside. As you walk inside, you’ll notice the DJ booth and a full bar, along with table seating for smaller groups.

Moving upstairs, you have additional seating options, most of which overlook the ground floor. There’s also a smaller bar, and a semi-outdoor patio.

Watch Sports at The Forge Bali

I’m very impressed with the sports selection at The Forge Bali. You can catch live streams of just about any game, anywhere in the world, regardless of the time of day – making it the ideal choice for sports fans.

There are countless flatscreen TVs installed on every corner of the interior so you won’t miss a moment of the game even if you turned away. You can even watch multiple games at once!

Grab a beer and watch any live game of Hockey, Footie, Baseball, Cricket, UFC, Formula 1, Tennis, or Golf. You can also find the less popular streams like Darts, Rowing, and Equestrian sports.

The Forge Bali Food Menu

Since The Forge Bali is a 24-hour restaurant and bar, you can grab just about any meal at any time of the day.

The breakfast menu is available from 7:00 am until 11:00 am everyday and all prices are simply 99k each – about $10 AUD per meal.

Everything else on their food menu is available for the full day. Enjoy a 30cm fire-roasted pizza, or a Smoked BBQ Pork Belly Sandwich, or Black Angus Beef Burger. Truly this is a restaurant where you intend of leaving with a full stomach.

My recommendation: Go for the Wagyu Tartare (if you’re alright with raw meat). Just 155k IDR gives you 150gr of wagyu beef topped with an organic egg yolk and some baguette croutes on the side.

Promotions at The Forge Bali

There is a different promotion for every day of the week at The Forge Bali. All of their promotions run from 11:00 am for lunch until 7:00 pm.

The Forge Bali - Sunday Texas BBQ
The Sunday Texas BBQ at The Forge Bali
  • Steak & Wine Monday – A solid deal – 250g Australian beef steak, 2 sides, 2 sauces, and a glass of imported wine – all for 299k IDR, a little under $30 AUD.
  • Fat Tuesday – Simple concept – 20% off the entire menu, whatever you choose to order.
  • Wing Wednesday – Probably one of my favorite promos at The Forge Bali. $0.10 AUD wings and $2.50 AUD beers – an irresistible deal.
  • Texas BBQ Thursday – 299k IDR sharing platter of beef, pork, bread, salad, sauces, and gravy.
  • TGIF – A thick double bacon cheese burger, fries, and a beer – 199k IDR – about $20 AUD.
  • Shellfish Saturday – Fresh oysters at 10k IDR ($0.10 AUD each).
  • Sunday Roast – About $20 AUD for Australian Striploin, roasted pork shouler, potatoes, carrots, caramelized onions, cauliflower, pudding, and free flow gravy. A good way to wrap up the weekend!

These are dine-in only. You won’t be able to make reservations for these. So if you want to grab a plate, make sure you arrive early.

The Forge Bali Drink Menu

You’ll need to take some time to browse through their drink menu which has a vast selection of draught beer, bottled beer, imported wine, cocktails, and spirits.

The Forge Bali Drinks Menu

Local beer prices range from 40k IDR to 60k IDR for a bottle of Bintang, Anker, or Singaraja. Expect to pay a bit more for imported beer like Budweiser, Erdinger, or Sapporo.

You can grab a bottle of Wolf Blass for around 500k IDR, or go for the more premium side of life with an Italian choice. Per-glass orders are only available for some of their wines.

When it comes to spirits, they have just about every option available for whisky, tequila, vodka, or rum – all ranging through every price, quality, and strength.

The Forge Bali - Food and Drinks

The cocktail menu is fairly straight forward. 120k IDR for a cocktail, or 200k for 2. Whether you have both for yourself or you’re splitting with someone else, that’s entirely up to you. Can’t go wrong with 2 Classic Negronis for $20 AUD.

The Forge Bali has a perpetual happy hour. Regardless of the time of day you plan to visit, you can enjoy beers and cocktails at decent prices.

Live DJs

Another impressive element of The Forge Bali is their live DJs who can be spotted spinning at almost any hour of the day. What I like the most about the music here is that they play a healthy balance of all kinds of music.

Expect to hear a Bon Jovi song, followed up with a Tupac hit, and ABBA played afterwards. Might be audibly jarring to some, but personally I tend to enjoy it. The music blend offers something for everyone.

Summary

In conclusion, The Forge Bali is a well-rounded restaurant and bar suitable for just about anyone. Even if you aren’t a sports fan and you’re just on the hunt for a decent meal, their food menu offers quality choices.

Alternatively, if you’re simply looking for a night out with the boys and girls, you can spend the entire night here if you wish.

Personally, I enjoy spending some time at The Forge Bali with friends primarily because of the casual vibe. You don’t necessarily need to book a table and open bottles to enjoy a comfortable booth – although, you may need to make a reservation if you’re planning on going on a busy night.

If you’re planning a night out at The Forge Bali for a few drinks then headed elsewhere, I’d suggest you book a private car and driver for the full night, or the private car and driver half day hire. Please do not drink and drive a scooter.

You’ll be picked up from your hotel or villa by a friendly driver in an air-conditioned SUV, and taken to The Forge Bali or any other bar of your choice, then returned to your accommodation at the end of the night safe and sound.
