If you’re spending time in Sanur and you’re craving a real-deal local experience, Sindhu Night Market should absolutely be on your radar.

No, it’s not polished. It’s not curated for Instagram influencers. But it is delicious, bustling, and refreshingly real. This night market is where locals grab their dinner and tourists stumble upon Bali’s down-to-earth charm.

Whether you’re a first-timer or a Bali regular, this guide breaks down everything you need to know about Sindhu Night Market – how to get there, what to try, what to avoid, and why you should add this to your list of things to do in Sanur.

What is Sindhu Night Market?

Sanur Sindhu Night Market Review

Sindhu Night Market (also known as Pasar Sindhu, Pasar Sindu, or simply Sanur Night Market) is actually a relatively small night market. It’s located in the heart of Central Sanur, Bali.

By day, the space serves as a traditional market where locals pick up produce and daily needs. Come evening, it transforms into a lively street food haven packed with small food stalls (warungs).

Like with most night markets in Bali, don’t expect anything fancy. Expect plastic stools, flickering lights, motorbikes, street dogs, and some of the best Indonesian food you can eat for pocket change.

Location Info and Entrance Fees

Sindhu Night Market Entrance and Parking fees

Pasar Sindhu is located about 650m from Sindhu Beach (Pantai Sindhu). If you’re coming from the beach by foot, it should be around a 6-8 minute walk.

The night market starts up around 4:00 pm everyday. But if you’re there that early, you likely won’t be able to score any food as the vendors will still be preparing.

The best time to visit the market is around 6:00 – 7:00 pm when all the vendors are open and ready. This gives you a decent selection of food to choose from.

Scooter parking at Pasar Sindhu Night Market

There is no entrance fee to access Sindhu Night Market. It’s completely free. You can walk in, browse, and soak up the atmosphere without spending a single rupiah (good luck with that).

If you’re heading there on your own, you’ll only need to pay for parking – which is IDR 2k for scooters and IDR 5k for cars.

  • 📍 Location: Jl. Pungutan No.2, Sanur
  • ⏱️ Opening hours: After 5:00 pm, daily.
  • 🎟️ Entrance fee: Free
  • 🛵 Parking fees: IDR 2k – 5k

How to Get to Sindhu Night Market

By private car and driver

The best and most convenient way to visit Sindhu Night Market is to book a private car and driver for Sanur. This gives you a private, air-conditioned SUV with a friendly, English-speaking driver for the trip.

You have 2 choices:

By scooter

If you’re renting a scooter in Bali and already staying in Sanur, it’s an easy trip to Sindhu Night Market. Just hop on and get there within less than 10 minutes. Sanur’s roads are quite a comfortable ride compared to the rest of Bali. Grab a quality scooter with Bikago.

By taxi

Bluebird Taxis and other freelance Bali taxis can be found everywhere around Sanur. But prices vary wildly, especially with non-metered taxis with whom you’ll need to negotiate. Book a private car and driver instead, it’s better and cheaper, especially if you plan on visiting more places.

By public transport

Bali’s public transport, the Teman Bus, is new to the island but it isn’t very reliable (yet). At night, routes are quite limited. Although it’s ridiculously cheap, I wouldn’t suggest counting on this as a reliable option.

What to Expect at Sindhu Night Market

Visiting Sindhu Night Market is like stepping into an Indonesian food court – one that’s open-air, sometimes a bit chaotic, and filled with the mouthwatering scent of sizzling meats and fried treats.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Rows of small food stalls offering some of the most iconic Indonesian dishes
  • Open grills and massive woks working overtime.
  • Locals and tourists eating together.
  • Friendly vendors – most of whom speak basic English.
  • A casual, no-frills dining setup (plastic stools and share tables).
  • Occasional street musicians or kids selling small items.
  • A bit of smoke and noise, but that’s all part of the fun.
