New Year’s Eve in Bali can be anything from a huge beach club festival in Berawa to dinner by the beach in Jimbaran, fireworks in Seminyak or a much quieter night in Amed or Sidemen.
For New Year’s Eve 2026/2027, the biggest events are already starting to fill the calendar, and the main tourist areas will be busy long before midnight. Traffic, weather, ticket prices and where you stay can make a big difference to how the night actually goes.
Here are the best New Year’s Eve parties in Bali, fireworks, family-friendly options, quiet places, costs, weather, transport and practical tips for 31 December 2026 so you can plan the night without making it more complicated than it needs to be.
New Year’s Eve in Bali: Quick overview
New Year’s Eve in Bali is huge, but the experience changes massively depending on where you stay. Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Legian and Uluwatu get the biggest parties and crowds, while areas such as Sanur, Nusa Dua and Ubud are generally easier if you want something less chaotic.
For 31 December 2026, expect major beach club events, hotel dinners, packed beaches and fireworks across South Bali.
The part most people tend to underestimate is traffic. Moving between areas late on New Year’s Eve can be painfully slow, so where you stay matters almost as much as which event you book.
- Best for major parties: Canggu, Berawa, Seminyak and Uluwatu
- Best for free fireworks: Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and other busy South Bali beaches
- Best for families: Nusa Dua, Sanur and family-friendly hotel or resort events
- Best for avoiding huge crowds: Ubud, Sidemen, Amed, Munduk and Pemuteran
- Biggest planning mistake: Booking dinner, fireworks and an afterparty in different parts of South Bali
- Best transport strategy: Stay close enough to your main event or fireworks spot to walk back
- Need to book early: Popular beach club events, New Year’s Eve dinners and accommodation near major venues
- Weather: December is wet season, so rain is possible even if the evening starts clear
- Budget option: You do not need an expensive ticket. Public beaches can have some of the best atmosphere at midnight
- Important: New Year’s Eve on 31 December is not Nyepi. Bali’s Balinese New Year is a completely different event
Overall, it’s one of the best times to visit Bali if you’re after fun, partying, celebrating, and whatever else is involved in that agenda.
💡 My advice: Choose one area for a few nights and build everything around it. New Year’s Eve in Bali is not the night to discover just how far Canggu is from Uluwatu. Trust me.
Is Bali Good for New Year’s Eve?

Yes. New Year’s Eve in Bali is one of the best places to be in Southeast Asia, especially if you want beach parties, fireworks, warm weather and plenty of different ways to celebrate.
The biggest events are usually around Canggu, Berawa, Seminyak and Uluwatu, where beach clubs and resorts run large ticketed parties.
Kuta and Legian are better if you want a more public celebration, with packed beaches, bars and plenty of fireworks without needing to spend a fortune on an event ticket.
New Year’s in Bali also works well if you’re not interested in a massive party. Sanur and Nusa Dua are generally easier for families, while Ubud, Sidemen, Amed and North Bali are much calmer than the main nightlife areas.
There are two catches. New Year’s Eve falls right in Bali’s peak holiday period and rainy season. Hotels prices are higher, popular parties sell out and traffic around South Bali can be some of the worst you’ll see all year.
The best plans for New Year’s Eve in Bali are usually the simplest ones. Stay close to where you want to celebrate, avoid trying to visit multiple areas in one night and book anything important well in advance.

- A Night in Elysium at Mulia Bali: Mulia’s Grand Ballroom hosts a more polished NYE celebration from 9pm until midnight, with live performances from The Starlets and Fiction Band leading into the countdown.
- The Midnight Fire at Embers: A much calmer option than the South Bali beach clubs. Embers has a five-course Mediterranean-inspired dinner from 6pm, followed by live music from 9:30pm through the midnight countdown. Prices start from IDR 950,000++ for the vegetarian menu or IDR 1.55 million++ for Land & Sea.
More parties will be added as they’re announced. Several major venues in Bali. that regularly hold New Year’s Eve events have not yet published enough verified 2026/27 information for me to include them here. I’ll add them once their 31 December 2026 event, lineup and booking details are confirmed.
Best Areas to Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Bali

The best area for New Year’s Eve in Bali depends on the kind of night you want.
Canggu has the biggest beach club parties, Seminyak has the best mix of restaurants and nightlife, while Kuta and Legian are better for cheap drinks, busy beaches and free fireworks.
Uluwatu is great for big destination events, but venues are spread out, so choose your party first and stay nearby. Nusa Dua and Sanur are easier for families, while Ubud is better if you want dinner and a quieter countdown.
| Area | Best for | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Canggu | Big parties | FINNS, Atlas, DJs and packed beach clubs |
| Seminyak | Dinner + nightlife | Restaurants, bars, beach clubs and fireworks |
| Kuta & Legian | Budget NYE | Busy beaches, bars and plenty of free fireworks |
| Uluwatu | Destination parties | Savaya, Melasti events and clifftop venues |
| Nusa Dua | Families + resorts | Gala dinners, hotel parties and organised countdowns |
| Sanur | Relaxed NYE | Beachfront restaurants, hotel events and smaller crowds |
| Ubud | Quiet NYE | Special dinners, live music and smaller celebrations |
Where to Spend New Year’s Eve in Bali
Each area has a very different New Year’s Eve feel. Some are built around big beach club events, while others are better for dinner, fireworks or a quieter night. This is the easiest way to narrow down where to celebrate before choosing a specific event.
- Canggu: Best for the biggest beach club parties, international DJs and a proper late night. This is where you’ll find major events at venues like FINNS and Atlas, plus plenty of smaller bars and clubs around Berawa and Batu Bolong.
- Seminyak: Best if you want more variety without committing to one huge event. You can combine a nice dinner, cocktails, bars, beach clubs and midnight fireworks without needing to base the whole night around a festival-style party.
- Kuta & Legian: Best for a cheaper and more casual New Year’s Eve. Expect busy bars, packed beaches, lots of fireworks and plenty happening without needing to spend millions of rupiah on an entry ticket.
- Uluwatu: Best for big destination parties with impressive clifftop and beachfront venues. Savaya is one of the headline options, while the Melasti and Ungasan areas usually have several other major events and resort parties.
- Nusa Dua: Best for families, couples and anyone who prefers a more organised New Year’s Eve. Large resorts usually run gala dinners, live entertainment and countdown parties, so you can celebrate without leaving the hotel complex.
- Sanur: Best for a more relaxed beachfront New Year’s Eve. Expect hotel events, restaurant dinners, bars and smaller celebrations rather than enormous beach club festivals.
- Ubud: Best if you want to avoid the South Bali party scene completely. There are still special dinners, live music and hotel celebrations, but the overall atmosphere is much calmer than Canggu, Seminyak or Kuta.
💡 My Advice: If your accommodation is already booked, start with events in that area before looking elsewhere. Bali has enough going on around New Year’s Eve that you usually don’t need to cross the island just to find a good party, fireworks or dinner.
Quiet Places to Spend New Year’s Eve in Bali
You don’t have to spend New Year’s Eve in Bali surrounded by beach clubs and traffic. Several parts of Bali stay much calmer than Canggu, Seminyak and Kuta, although you’ll still hear the occasional fireworks and local celebration around midnight.
- Amed: Good for a relaxed beachfront New Year with small restaurants, bars and hotels rather than huge organised events. Stay somewhere near the beach and keep the night simple.
- Sidemen: One of the best choices for a genuinely quiet New Year’s Eve. Most nights revolve around dinner at your hotel or villa, drinks and enjoying the mountain views rather than heading out to a party.
- Candidasa: A good East Bali option if you want somewhere quiet for NYE but still with restaurants, small resorts and a few places to have dinner and drinks. It feels much more relaxed than South Bali without being completely isolated.
- Munduk: Best for cooler weather, mountain accommodation and an early night without feeling like you’re missing anything. This is about as far from the South Bali NYE scene as you can get.
- Nusa Lembongan: Much smaller and calmer than Bali’s main party areas, with beachfront restaurants and smaller celebrations. It still has some nightlife, but nothing on the scale of Canggu or Seminyak.
For the quietest night, Sidemen, Munduk and Pemuteran are my top picks. Candidasa, Amed and Nusa Lembongan is good if you still want a few restaurants and drinks nearby without committing to a huge New Year’s Eve event.
⚠️ Heads Up: Quiet doesn’t mean completely dead. These areas still have New Year’s Eve dinners, live music and parties. Sunset Point in Amed, for example, usually hosts a decent New Year’s Eve party, but the overall vibe is still nowhere near the scale of Canggu or Uluwatu.

Best Beach Clubs for New Year’s Eve in Bali

Bali’s beach clubs are some of the biggest places to celebrate New Year’s Eve, but they don’t all suit the same crowd.
Some are full-scale festival venues, while others are better for dinner, drinks, sunset and a more relaxed countdown.
- FINNS Beach Club, Berawa: Best for a huge, high-energy New Year’s Eve with a festival atmosphere. This is one of Bali’s biggest NYE venues and suits groups who want the party itself to be the main event.
- Atlas Beach Club, Berawa: Another massive option in Berawa, with a younger crowd, huge beachfront space and more of a concert-style feel than a relaxed beach club night.
- Potato Head, Seminyak: Better for people who want a more stylish, music-focused New Year’s Eve without the same mega-club feel as FINNS or Atlas. The beachfront setting also makes it good for sunset before the night properly starts.
- KU DE TA, Seminyak: One of the better choices for couples or groups who want dinner, cocktails and a polished beachfront countdown rather than a giant festival.
- The Lawn, Canggu: A smaller and more relaxed option compared with FINNS or Atlas, with a good beachfront setting at Batu Bolong and an easy transition from sunset drinks into a late-night party.
- La Brisa, Echo Beach: Best for a more bohemian New Year’s Eve with a strong music crowd, beachfront setting and less of the polished super-club feel.
- Cafe del Mar, Canggu: Suits people who want a poolside and beachfront party without going as large as FINNS or Atlas. It has more of an Ibiza-style beach club atmosphere.
- White Rock Beach Club, Melasti: One of the strongest South Bali options if you want a proper beachfront party with lots of space and a big midnight countdown away from Canggu.
- Sundays Beach Club, Ungasan: Better for a more scenic and relaxed New Year’s Eve on the beach. This is more about the location, sunset and beach experience than a huge nightclub atmosphere.
- Karma Beach, Ungasan: Good for couples and anyone who wants dinner, drinks and a beach countdown in a more private resort-style setting.
- Azul Beach Club, Legian: A useful option if you’re staying around Legian or Kuta and don’t want to travel to Canggu or Uluwatu. The atmosphere is more casual and pool-party focused.
- CANNA Bali, Nusa Dua: One of the better beach club options for people staying in Nusa Dua, especially if you want a proper beachfront celebration without crossing South Bali on New Year’s Eve.
- Reef Beach Club, Nusa Dua: Better for a resort-style New Year’s Eve with dinner, drinks and a more relaxed beachfront setting.
- Mari Beach Club, Batu Belig: A good middle ground between Seminyak and Canggu, with a beachfront setting and a more laid-back atmosphere than the biggest Berawa venues.
- Tropical Temptation, Melasti: Another strong Melasti option if you want a South Bali beach club without going all the way to Canggu. It suits groups looking for sunset, drinks and a proper party atmosphere close to Uluwatu.
For most first time Bali trips, FINNS and Atlas make the most sense if you want the biggest possible New Year’s Eve, while Potato Head, KU DE TA and The Lawn are better if you want something more polished and less “full-on”.
💡 My Advice: Choose the beach club based on the type of night you want, not just which name you recognise. Berawa is best for huge parties, Seminyak for a more polished night, and Melasti or Ungasan for a beachfront celebration without heading north to Canggu.
Best Places to Watch NYE Fireworks in Bali

If fireworks are a big part of your plans for New Year’s Eve in Bali, some venues are much better positioned than others. Rooftops, clifftop bars and beachfront resorts give you a wider view than standing inside a packed club at ground level.
- Rock Bar, Jimbaran: One of the best elevated spots for watching fireworks around Jimbaran Bay, with a wide view across the coastline.
- Luna Rooftop at AYANA, Jimbaran: Another strong option if the view matters more than being right beside the main party. The rooftop position gives you a much broader look over the bay.
- White Rock Beach Club, Melasti: Best if you want to be close to a large beachfront fireworks display rather than watching from a distance.
- FINNS Beach Club, Berawa: Better for atmosphere than a peaceful view, but you’re right in the middle of one of Bali’s biggest New Year’s Eve celebrations.
- Atlas Beach Club, Berawa: Similar to FINNS, with a huge beachfront setting and a full-scale countdown atmosphere.
- Nusa Dua beachfront resorts: Several large resorts run their own countdown celebrations, so staying at the resort can give you good fireworks views without travelling anywhere after dinner.
For the best actual view, Jimbaran is my usual pick because you can look across the bay rather than only seeing whatever is happening directly in front of you. Melasti and Berawa are better if you want to be right inside the party.
Free New Year’s Eve Fireworks in Bali
You can also see plenty of fireworks without buying an event ticket. Some of Bali’s best beaches are the easiest options, especially where many hotels, beach clubs and private parties are spread along the same stretch of coastline.
- Jimbaran Beach: Best free option for wide views. The curve of the bay means you can often see fireworks from several resorts at once.
- Seminyak Beach: Good for seeing multiple displays along the coast, especially around the busier hotel and beach club areas.
- Legian Beach: A convenient option if you’re staying nearby, with open views towards both Kuta and Seminyak.
- Kuta Beach: One of the biggest public gathering spots on New Year’s Eve, although fireworks restrictions can change from year to year.
- Berawa Beach: Useful if you’re staying around Canggu and want to see the beach club displays without buying entry.
- Batu Bolong Beach: A good Canggu option for a more casual midnight on the sand.
- Melasti Beach: Worth watching for 2026/27 because major beachfront events are already planned nearby, although public access rules can change closer to New Year’s Eve.
⚠️ Heads Up: Public beaches can get extremely busy before midnight, so arrive well before 11pm if you want a decent spot rather than standing three rows behind someone filming the entire thing on an iPad.
Best New Year’s Eve Dinners in Bali

A big beach club isn’t the only way to spend New Year’s Eve in Bali. There are already many 31 December 2026 NYE dinners confirmed, ranging from family-friendly buffets to proper fine dining and rooftop celebrations.
New Year’s Eve Dinners in Bali for 2026/2027
| Dinner | Area | Price |
|---|---|---|
| AYANA Grand Ballroom | Jimbaran | IDR 2.5m++ adult |
| KISIK Seafood & Grill | Jimbaran | IDR 2.2m++ adult |
| Padi at AYANA | Jimbaran | IDR 1.6m++ adult |
| Blossom Steakhouse | Sanur | IDR 1.3m++ pp |
| Copper Kitchen & Bar | Ubud | IDR 950k–1.45m++ pp |
| Embers | Ubud | IDR 950k–1.55m++ pp |
| Apéritif | Ubud | Price TBA |
| H2O at Bali Dynasty Resort | Kuta | Price TBA |
For families, AYANA Grand Ballroom, Padi and Bali Dynasty are the ones I’d look at first. If you want something more romantic or food-focused, Apéritif, Embers and KISIK make more sense.
Copper is a decent middle ground if you still want the night to turn into a proper countdown afterwards, while Blossom is one of the stronger options if you’re staying in Sanur and don’t want to travel across Bali for dinner.
⚠️ Heads Up: NYE dinner prices often have ++ after them, which means tax and service are added on top. Also check whether your booking includes the midnight countdown, drinks or entry to another event afterwards, because every package is different.
More New Year’s Eve dinners will be added as resorts and restaurants release their 2026/27 festive menus. I’m only including confirmed 31 December 2026 events here rather than recycling last year’s packages.
New Year’s Eve Weather in Bali
New Year’s Eve in Bali falls during the rainy season, but that doesn’t mean 31 December will be a washout.
Expect hot, humid weather with a chance of anything from a quick tropical shower to a proper downpour.
Average Bali weather in December
| Weather | December average |
|---|---|
| Daytime temperature | 29 to 31°C |
| Night temperature | 24 to 26°C |
| Sea temperature | Around 29°C |
| Humidity | Around 80–85% |
| Rainfall | Roughly 250–400+ mm |
| Rainy days | Around 15–20 days |
| Sunshine | Around 6–7 hours per day |
| Season | Wet season |
The important part is that 15 to 20 rainy days doesn’t mean 15 to 20 completely rainy days. Bali can get a heavy downpour for an hour and then stay dry for the rest of the evening.
Rainfall also varies quite a bit depending on where you’re staying. South Bali can get some very heavy December rain, while areas of North and East Bali can be considerably drier.
What this means for New Year’s Eve
Most of Bali’s biggest NYE celebrations are outdoors, including beach clubs, rooftops, beach parties and fireworks.
- Don’t cancel plans because of a rain icon: Weather apps frequently show rain during Bali’s wet season even when most of the day stays dry.
- Check the hourly forecast on 31 December: This is far more useful than looking at a forecast a week beforehand.
- Bring a light poncho: It takes almost no room and is much easier than carrying an umbrella through a packed party.
- Check whether your table is covered: This matters if you’re spending several million rupiah on a beach club table or NYE dinner.
- Expect humidity: Even after sunset it will normally be warm and humid, so heavy clothing is a bad idea.
- Plan for wet roads: A heavy evening downpour combined with New Year’s Eve traffic can make getting around even slower.
⚠️ Heads Up: December weather is unpredictable enough that nobody can tell you months in advance whether it will rain at midnight on New Year’s Eve. I’ll update this section with the actual 31 December 2026 forecast closer to New Year’s Eve.
New Year’s Eve Traffic & Getting Around

This is a harsh reality. Traffic is one of the biggest things to plan around on New Year’s Eve in Bali.
The worst congestion is usually around Canggu, Berawa, Seminyak, Kuta, Legian and Uluwatu, especially on roads leading towards major parties and beaches.
A trip that normally takes 20 minutes can take much, much longer on 31 December. Road closures, temporary traffic diversions and huge numbers of cars and scooters can make Google Maps estimates pretty useless as the evening gets busier.
Getting Around on New Year’s Eve in Bali
| Transport | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Walking | Ideal if you’re staying close to your party, restaurant or beach |
| Private driver | Book early and arrange pickup/drop-off points in advance |
| Grab / Gojek car | Long waits, cancellations and surge pricing are possible |
| GrabBike / GoRide | Can get through traffic more easily, but pickup restrictions may apply |
| Taxi | Demand is high and traffic affects them just as much as private cars |
| Rental scooter | Heavy traffic, rain and drunk road users make NYE a bad night to learn |
| Hotel shuttle | Some hotels arrange transfers to their own NYE events or nearby areas |
When Traffic Gets Bad During NYE
Traffic in South Bali generally builds throughout the afternoon and evening as people head towards restaurants, beach clubs and public beaches.
The period around midnight and immediately after the countdown can be very messy. Thousands of people leave events at roughly the same time, so getting a car at 12:15am can be way harder than getting one earlier in the evening.
Road closures and traffic controls also change from year to year. Local police might restrict vehicles around busy beaches and entertainment areas, so the final approach to your venue may need to be done on foot.
My Advice for Getting Around on NYE
Stay within walking distance of your main New Year’s Eve plans whenever possible. This is one night when paying a little more for accommodation close to your event can save you hours sitting in traffic.
If you’re using one of my private drivers, arrange your New Year’s Eve transport well in advance rather than trying to organise a car on 31 December. Your driver can also arrange a realistic pickup point if roads immediately outside your venue are closed or completely jammed.
Book my private car and driver in Bali if you need transport on New Year’s Eve. Availability is limited on 31 December, so this is one date I recommend booking early.
💡 My Advice: Don’t plan dinner in Seminyak, fireworks in Canggu and an afterparty in Uluwatu. On a normal night that’s already a lot of driving. On New Year’s Eve it can completely fall apart.
How Much Does New Year’s Eve in Bali Cost?

New Year’s Eve in Bali can cost almost nothing or tens of millions of rupiah, depending on how you celebrate.
Watching fireworks from a public beach is free, while the biggest beach clubs charge several million rupiah just for entry.
Bali New Year’s Eve Costs
| NYE expense | Typical budget | Approx. USD |
|---|---|---|
| Public beach / fireworks | Free | Free |
| Casual dinner | IDR 150,000–500,000 pp | $9–30 pp |
| Hotel or restaurant NYE dinner | IDR 700,000–2,500,000+ pp | $42–150+ pp |
| Smaller party / event | IDR 200,000–1,000,000+ pp | $12–60+ pp |
| Major beach club ticket | IDR 1,500,000–5,000,000+ pp | $90–300+ pp |
| Beach club VIP table / daybed | IDR 10,000,000–50,000,000+ per group | $600–3,000+ |
| High-end private VIP area | IDR 75,000,000–150,000,000+ per group | $4,500–9,100+ |
| Drinks | IDR 50,000–250,000+ each | $3–15+ |
| Transport | Usually higher than a normal night | Varies |
USD prices are approximate and will change with the exchange rate.
These aren’t fixed prices. They give you a realistic idea of what to budget, and NYE packages vary enormously depending on what’s included. You will likely also need to budget for Christmas in Bali if you’re arriving earlier.
For some actual 2026 examples, FINNS currently starts at IDR 3.1 million per person for early-bird two-day general admission, while some of its private areas run all the way up to IDR 150 million.
Luxury resort dinners can also get expensive, with several AYANA NYE dinners currently around IDR 1.6 to 2.5 million++ per adult.

New Year’s Eve in Bali with Kids

Visiting Bali with kids can be great for New Year’s and New Year’s Eve, but I recommend skipping the huge beach club parties and choosing somewhere that already has dinner, entertainment and fireworks in one place.
Nusa Dua and Jimbaran are my top picks for families. The large resorts in these areas usually run organised New Year’s Eve events with buffet or set-menu dinners, live entertainment and countdown celebrations. It also means you can just walk back to your room afterwards instead of trying to find transport after midnight.
Sanur is another good option if you want something more chill. There are beachfront restaurants and hotel celebrations without the same huge party scene you’ll find around Canggu and Seminyak.
For a cheaper night, Jimbaran Beach, Kuta Beach, Legian Beach and Seminyak Beach can be fun for older kids who want to see the fireworks. Just expect large crowds around midnight.
A few things are worth planning for:
- Book an early dinner: Restaurants and resort dinners can fill up quickly, especially those with beachfront views.
- Check children’s prices: Many hotel NYE packages have separate rates for children, while very young kids may be free.
- Check age restrictions: Some beach clubs and NYE parties are adults-only or have minimum age requirements.
- Bring hearing protection for younger kids: Fireworks can be extremely loud when you’re watching directly from the beach.
- Have a rain backup: December is wet season, so covered seating is useful if you’re booking an outdoor dinner.
- Avoid moving between areas: Pick somewhere you can spend the entire evening rather than dragging the kids through New Year’s Eve traffic at 11pm.
For younger children, I recommend a resort celebration in Nusa Dua or Jimbaran. For older kids and teenagers, dinner followed by fireworks on the beach can be a lot more fun without paying for an expensive NYE package.
My Tips for New Year’s Eve in Bali
New Year’s Eve in Bali is generally straightforward if you plan ahead, but the combination of huge crowds, alcohol, fireworks, wet-season weather and very busy roads makes it worth being a little more careful than on a normal night.
- Choose one main plan for the night: Dinner followed by a party nearby is fine. Trying to squeeze Canggu, Seminyak and Uluwatu into the same night isn’t.
- Book the important stuff early: Popular NYE parties, beachfront restaurants and resort dinners can sell out well before 31 December.
- Screenshot your tickets: Don’t rely on your mobile reception being perfect when thousands of people are gathered in the same area.
- Agree on a meeting point: If you’re with friends, pick an obvious place to meet if someone gets separated. This is especially useful at huge beach clubs and public beaches.
- Keep your phone and wallet secure: Crowded beaches, bars and events are not the place to leave a phone sticking out of your back pocket. Take the same precautions you would at any major festival or crowded celebration.
- Don’t leave drinks unattended: Keep an eye on your own drink and don’t accept open drinks from strangers.
- Be careful with alcohol: Bali’s heat and humidity make it surprisingly easy to become dehydrated. Drink water throughout the night, especially if you’ve been drinking since sunset.
- Be extremely careful around fireworks: You’ll see plenty of private fireworks and firecrackers around Bali. Give people setting them off plenty of space and don’t attempt to light unfamiliar fireworks yourself.
- Don’t drink and ride a scooter: This should be obvious, but New Year’s Eve is one of the worst nights to take the risk. Roads are busy, conditions may be wet and there will be other intoxicated road users around.
- Use official transport: Book through Grab or Gojek, use a recognised taxi, hotel transport or a driver you’ve arranged beforehand rather than accepting random transport offers outside crowded venues.
- Carry a small amount of cash: Cards and QR payments are widely accepted, but cash is useful if payment systems or mobile reception become unreliable.
- Bring a poncho: A tropical downpour doesn’t have to ruin the night. A cheap lightweight poncho is much easier to deal with in a crowd than an umbrella.
- Check your venue’s rules before leaving: Age restrictions, prohibited items, re-entry policies and bag restrictions vary between NYE events.
- Save your hotel’s location on your phone: Save the address and Google Maps pin rather than relying on remembering the hotel name after midnight.
- Don’t take valuables to the beach: Bring what you actually need and leave passports and unnecessary valuables locked at your accommodation.
💡 My Biggest Tip: Keep the night simple. One area, one main event and a clear plan for getting back to your accommodation will make New Year’s Eve in Bali considerably easier.
