10 Best Restaurants in Jatiluwih – Where to eat in Jatiluwih

Dining in Jatiluwih offers a different opportunity that’s not often experienced when in South Bali – having a meal with the view of endless rice terraces as far as the eyes can see, in this case the world famous Jatiluwih Rice Terraces.

Among the handful of things to do in Jatiluwih, indulging in some of the best restaurants in Jatiluwih is one of them. Expect stunning atmosphere, friendly service, with spectacular views of the rice terraces as you dine. You can stop by any of these restaurants during a Jatiluwih Day Tour.

1. Jatiluwih Resto

A very to-the-point name. It’s a restaurant…in Jatiluwih. It became popular over the years primarily to its location right at the top of the lookout overlooking the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces (by the Jatiluwih sign). Aside from its location, the restaurant is considered one of the best restaurants in Jatiluwih because of the passion put into the food, service, and atmosphere.

The menu focuses on Indonesian cuisine but you can find international / western options as well. They’re also popular for their lunch buffet for just 150k IDR (about $15 AUD) per person – a decent deal in my opinion.

Address: Jl. Batu Luwih Kawan, Jatiluwih
Opening hours: 9am – 7pm

2. Gong Jatiluwih

Among the best restaurants in Jatiluwih, Gong Jatiluwih is one of the most popular beside the one above. I’d say it comes a close second due to it’s size, location, and menu. The views of Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are equally as spectacular.

In terms of food you’ll find a good balance of both Indonesian food and Western food. Their lunch buffet goes for 130k ($13 AUD) per person.

Address: Jl. Jatiluwih Kawan No.88, Jatiluwih
Opening hours: 8am – 6pm

3. Bhuana Agung Restaurant

Next up on my list of best restaurants in Jaitluwih – Bhuana Agung Restaurant. It’s part of Bhuana Agung Villas which have small rooms and villas located behind the restaurant. What makes this restaurant unique is that they have seating available right at the edge overlooking the rice terraces.

This is a great spot to dine out in the open. Keep in mind it might be hot as there are no air conditioning or fans. If you choose to hide from the sun, there is alternative seating inside the actual restaurant.

Address: Jl. Jatiluwih Kawan, Jatiluwih
Opening hours: 9am – 9pm

4. The Gafel Okokan Jatiluwih

The Gafel Okokan gives off more of a cafe vibe, suitable for breakfast or brunch. It still offers great views of the rice terraces but a lower view compared to the previous restaurants. They offer a simple menu with your basic food, but no complaints on the taste. Sandwiches, salads, common Indonesian food, pizza, and a breakfast menu.

5. Batu Karu Kopi

Even though Batu Karu Kopi is situated slightly further away from the others, I still considered it one of the best restaurants in Jatiluwih. The food menu is quite basic and even if you’re not hungry, I highly recommend paying a visit to try one of their signature blends coffee selection.

The name Batu Karu refers to Mount Batukaru (Gunung Batukaru). Instead of focusing on the main rice terraces of Jatiluwih, it sits right on the edge of a hill facing the mountain. Absolutely gorgeous location!

Address: Jl. Batu Luwih Kawan, Jatiluwih
Opening hours: 8am – 5pm

6. The Rustic Bali

The Rustic offers an alternative locations from the restaurants that overlook the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. The restaurant is situated a bit lower among the rice terraces, giving you somewhat of a different perspective of the world heritage site.

Their vibe matches the name – Rustic – small metal stools, wooden tables, makeshift signs, and bamboo interior. Although the menu isn’t anything special, I’d still included in my list of best restaurants in Jatiluwih due to it’s location.

Address: Jatiluwih Road, Jatiluwih
Opening hours: 9am – 6pm

7. CataVaca Jatiluwih

Located slightly further away from the other best restaurants in Jatiluwih, CataVaca offers a more secluded environment to enjoy a meal. They have a very minimalistic menu, focusing on a handful of dishes. The location features a garden facing the rice terraces, and they also have a small swing for photos!

8. Bamboo Forest Restaurant

Bamboo Forest is a restaurant by Waka Hotels and Resorts. It’s located further North from the group of restaurants by the Jatiluwih lookout. Although there are no views of the rice terraces, it’s seclusion offers a tropical escape to dine with the bamboo forest around you (hence the name!).

You can grab the buffet menu for 215k IDR ($21 AUD) per person – slightly higher than the previously mentioned lunch buffets but won’t break your budget that much. If you don’t feel like pigging out with the buffet, you can order something from the A La Carte menu.

Address: Dalam Sari, Jatiluwih
Opening hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm

9. Green Talas

Heading back towards the Jatiluwih lookout you’ll find Green Talas, located just before Bhuana Agung Restaurant. Although the restaurant is listed as a “Porridge Restaurant” (for some reason) on Google Maps, the menu offers much more than that.

The food selection is primarily Indonesian food and desserts, so if you’re feeling adventurous to try some spicy Indonesian food, this is one of the best restaurants in Jatiluwih to try some. The seating also offers views of the rice terraces.

Address: Jl. Batu Luwih Kawan No.5, Jatiluwih
Opening hours: 9am – 6pm

10. The Lava Resto

The Lava is just outside of the main Jatiluwih area. It’s a large, beautiful bamboo building and you will likely pass by it on the way to Jatiluwih from South Bali. The dining area gives you a panoramic view of the rice terraces and the mountain.

In terms of food, the menu is quite diverse – quite possible everything you can expect – pizza, wings, Indonesian food, and even quesadillas. Not too certain how versatile their chefs are but I wouldn’t bet too much on some of the menu items tasting up to par.

Opening hours: 9am – 5pm
