Ubud isn’t exactly the first place people think of when they hear “Bali nightlife.” Compared to the beach party scenes in Seminyak or Canggu, it’s definitely more low-key.
But don’t write it off just yet. Over the past few years, a handful of standout spots have redefined what a night out in Ubud looks like.
Whether you’re after live music, craft cocktails, cold Bintangs, or a jungle-view rooftop, the best bars in Ubud offer more than you’d expect. It’s still chill, it’s still artsy, but now there’s actually somewhere worth going after dinner.
Here’s my handpicked collection of the best bars in Ubud for 2025 to add to your list of things to do in Ubud.
Map of the Best Bars in Ubud
You’ll find a good chunk of the Ubud Bars clustered around Jalan Monkey Forest, with a few tucked away along Jalan Raya Ubud and Jalan Goutama.
The beauty of Ubud nightlife is that it’s quite compact. You can easily bar hop without needing a scooter or car.
Pinstripe Bar – Hidden & Classy

If you’re hunting for one of the best bars in Ubud with serious speakeasy vibes, Pinstripe Bar is where you want to be.
Hidden behind a tailor shop facade (yes, really), this secret cocktail bar has quickly earned a reputation as one of the best speakeasy bars in Bali.
Inside, it’s dark, intimate, and stylish. Think classic jazz, dim lighting, and bartenders who actually know their way around a Negroni.
The menu leans into craft cocktails with locally inspired twists, and the whole experience feels like stumbling into a very well-kept secret.
It’s not the kind of place you just find. You go looking for it. And trust me, it’s worth the hunt. Pro tip: go for dinner at Apéritif Restaurant, then head to Pinstripe for some after-meal cocktails.
📍 Location: Br. Nagi, Jl. Lanyahan, Petulu, Ubud
⏰ Opening hours: 4:00 PM – 11:30 PM, daily
🌐 Instagram: @pinstripebar
⭐ Best for: a hidden speakeasy experience, expertly crafted cocktails.
The Blue Door – Lively Bar + Speakeasy

Sitting on Jalan Monkey Forest among a handful of other nightlife spots, The Blue Door is easily one of the best bars in Ubud, especially if you’re after variety in your night out.
It’s got a pub-style bar in the front where you can chill with a beer and watch the game, but head to the back and you’ll find a small speakeasy-style nightclub that kicks off later in the evening. Yes, dancing is encouraged.
Live bands, DJs, and a crowd that actually wants to have fun make this one of Ubud’s few genuinely lively night spots. It’s a top pick whether you’re starting your bar hop or stumbling in for a nightcap.
📍 Location: Jl. Monkey Forest, Ubud
⏰ Opening hours: 11:00 AM – 3 AM, daily
🌐 Instagram: @thebluedoorbali
⭐ Best for: live music, dancing, and starting (or ending) your bar hop.
CP Lounge – Legendary Late-Night Spot
Just down the street from The Blue Door, CP Lounge is one of the few bars in Ubud that’s been around forever and it’s still going strong.
If you ask around, this place will almost always come up as a legendary spot among Ubud locals and expats, and for good reason.
It’s got that unpolished, anything-goes charm: a big open-air garden bar, pool tables, hookah lounges, and a late-night dance floor that’s seen more barefoot salsa than you’d expect.
Live music kicks off early, and DJs take over once the crowd loosens up. You’ll find everything from chill reggae sets to full-on dance sessions depending on the night.
If you’re bar hopping through the best bars in Ubud, CP Lounge is the kind of place where plans go sideways, in the best way.

No Más Bar – Loud & Rowdy

If you’re looking for a bar that nails moody lighting, great music, and strong cocktails, No Más Bar is easily one of the best bars in Ubud.
Located just off Jalan Monkey Forest, it’s got a gritty, urban vibe with Latin flair: exposed brick, dark wood, and a killer soundtrack that leans heavy on funk, rock, and indie beats.
And make no mistake. It gets loud and rowdy. If that’s what you’re after, you’re in for a fun night. The dance floor gets packed, the cocktails keep flowing, and the crowd doesn’t start to thin out until well past midnight.
It’s a favorite among locals, expats, and travelers who want something with more attitude than ambience. No Más Bar isn’t quiet, and that’s exactly the point.
📍 Location: Jl. Monkey Forest, Ubud
⏰ Opening hours: 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM, daily
🌐 Instagram: @nomasubud
⭐ Best for: loud tunes, party vibes, and strong drinks.
L.O.L Bar – Reggae & Pool

L.O.L Bar isn’t trying to be fancy. This laid-back hangout on Jalan Monkey Forest has all the essentials: live reggae bands, cold drinks, and a few pool tables to keep things moving between rounds.
It’s one of the best bars in Ubud if you’re after a chill night with good vibes and zero pretension. The crowd is a mix of locals and backpackers, the music is always on, and there’s usually someone dancing barefoot by the end of the night.
Come for the music, stay for the atmosphere and maybe a Bintang and/or two cocktails. Be warned: it gets crowded.
📍 Location: Jl. Monkey Forest, Ubud
⏰ Opening hours: 1:00 PM – 3:00 AM, daily
🌐 Instagram: @lolbarbali
⭐ Best for: reggae nights, casual crowds, and pool table hangs.
Laughing Buddha Bar – Live Music & Dancing

Laughing Buddha Bar is one of the best bars in Ubud if you’re chasing that perfect mix of live music, good food, and high-energy vibes.
It really comes alive later in the evening, especially when the band hits the stage, and trust me, they always draw a crowd.
The atmosphere is upbeat but still relaxed, with a steady stream of cold beers, cocktails, and surprisingly solid food (yes, the burger with skin-on fries is legit).
Live music runs most nights until around 11:30pm, and the bands don’t just play in the background. They get people dancing.
It’s a popular spot, especially on weekends, so if you want your own table, aim to show up before 8pm. Otherwise, be ready to share space and squeeze in. But once the music starts, no one’s sitting anyway.
📍 Location: Jl. Monkey Forest, Ubud
⏰ Opening hours: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM, daily
🌐 Instagram: @laughingbuddhabali
⭐ Best for: dinner and dancing with a solid live band.
The Melting Pot Saloon – Games & Spots
The Melting Pot Saloon is hands-down one of the best bars in Ubud if you’re into pub games, sports, and a big ol’ Western-style saloon vibe.
It’s massive, full of character, and stacked with entertainment: pool tables, darts, snooker, axe throwing, and big screens showing live sports from around the world.
The place stays open until 2am, making it one of the few late-night options in Ubud. Drinks are fairly priced, the food is better than you’d expect (try the bar snacks or a burger), and the whole space is impressively clean and well-kept given how big it is.
Flags from around the world cover the walls. And yes, you’re welcome to sign yours. It’s part sports bar, part playground, and a great spot to let loose if you’re not in the mood for a dance floor but still want a good time.
📍 Location: Jalan Raya Pengosekan No.22X, Ubud
⏰ Opening hours: 10:30 AM – 2:00 AM, daily
🌐 Instagram: @themeltingpot.saloon
⭐ Best for: pub games, sports, and fun nights out.

Lokal Bar Ubud – Garden Vibes & Live Music

Lokal Bar is one of those rare finds that does everything well: good food, great drinks, and a chill garden setting that feels like a little escape from the buzz of Ubud’s main streets.
It’s definitely earned its spot among the best bars in Ubud, especially if you’re after a place that works for dinner and drinks without sacrificing atmosphere.
Set in an open-air garden with trees, fountains, and a breezy vibe, Lokal Bar Ubud hits that sweet spot between relaxed and lively.
The menu is stacked with both Balinese and Western dishes, and the drinks menu is legit. Cocktails, mocktails, beers, even milkshakes if you’re mixing things up.
Live music is the highlight here. Not too loud, just the right energy, and the bands always seem to know what the crowd wants.
Hit it during happy hour for 2-for-1 cocktails, and don’t be surprised if you end up coming back two or three nights in a row.
📍 Location: Jl. Monkey Forest, Ubud

For a more elevated drinking experience, Night Rooster is one of the best bars in Ubud, especially if you’re into next-level cocktails.
This intimate upstairs bar is run by the folks behind Locavore, so you already know the drinks are going to be anything but basic.
Expect house-made infusions, locally foraged ingredients, and bartenders who treat mixology like an art form.
The space is dark, cozy, and perfect for a quiet drink or two before calling it a night or before things get louder elsewhere.
It’s not where you go to party. It’s where you go to appreciate a drink. And for cocktail lovers, Night Rooster is pure gold.

Tucked away on Jalan Goutama, Bacari is Ubud’s first and finest wine and tapas bar, and perfect if you’re after something a little more refined than reggae and rum & coke.
With 20 wines by the glass, it’s a proper wine bar experience, minus the snobbery.
The vibe is effortlessly chic, with gold silverware, handcrafted ceramics, and a menu full of rich, flavorful small plates. From zucchini ricotta tapas to lamb with bold, brilliant seasoning, every dish feels thoughtful and indulgent.

Copper Kitchen, Bar & Rooftop – Drinks & Views

Ubud doesn’t have many rooftop bars, but Copper Kitchen makes the case that it only needs one.
Sitting atop Bisma Eight Hotel, it offers one of the most polished rooftop dining and drinking experiences in Ubud, with sweeping jungle views, stylish design, and that signature Balinese hospitality.
The service here is warm, thoughtful, and genuinely attentive: from mosquito repellent to allergy checks, they’ve got the little things covered.
The cocktails? Spot-on. Even better during their 2-for-1 happy hour, which hits that sweet spot between classy and affordable.

This African-owned cocktail bar blends vibrant design, signature smoke cocktails, Afrobeat DJs, and late-night energy into one seriously fun, feel-good spot.
The front is chill and colorful. Palm trees, golden lights, friendly staff, and mocktails garnished with watermelon butterflies (yes, really). But if you wander into the hidden back area after dark, expect the tempo to rise and the dance floor to heat up.
The Wahala Coconut Mojito is a must-try, the fried chicken slaps, and there’s even shisha on the menu if that’s your thing.
Bonus points for their sustainability efforts: they donate leftover food to local rescue animals.

It’s one of the best bars in Ubud for a relaxed, late-night shisha bar experience complete with a cozy underground vibe you might miss at first glance.
The upstairs might seem quiet, but the real action’s downstairs in the basement lounge, where low lighting, plush seating, and scented smoke set the tone.
Add in cool bathrooms (seriously), consistently solid service, and music that keeps the energy just right, and Eden’s the perfect spot when you want to chill but still feel out.

The indoor bar space turns up with live DJ sets, a solid dance floor, and cocktails that are borderline art. It’s intimate, stylish, and one of the few places in town where sequins wouldn’t feel out of place.

Best Ways to Visit Ubud Bars
Some of Ubud is walkable, but if you’re planning a night out (or bar hopping across a few different streets) it’s worth figuring out how you’re getting around before the drinks start flowing. Here are your best options:
Private Car & Driver
Not saying this just to sell you on our services. It’s honestly the easiest, safest, and most stress-free way to enjoy Ubud’s bar scene.
You’ll have your own personal chauffeur for the night, so you can visit as many bars as you like without worrying about parking, directions, or getting home safely.
It’s surprisingly affordable, and your driver will wait nearby and make sure you get back to your hotel in one piece.
Great option if you’re bar hopping with a group or just want to relax and enjoy the night without any logistical headaches.
Renting a Scooter
Let’s be clear: do not drink and drive a scooter in Bali. It’s not worth the risk. Legally, physically, or financially. Even if you’re “just tipsy,” Ubud’s roads get dark and unpredictable at night, and accidents happen all the time.
If you’re going out, leave the scooter at your hotel. Hire a driver for the night, or use Gojek/Grab for short hops between venues.
If you do need a scooter for your time in Ubud, here are some links:
Gojek or Grab
Both Gojek and Grab are solid options for getting around Ubud nightlife, especially for short distances between bars. Just keep in mind: late at night, availability can drop and prices can surge a bit.
Still, if you’re staying within central Ubud, you’ll usually find a ride within a few minutes. It’s fast, easy, and a good backup plan if you don’t have a driver booked.
Final Thoughts About Ubud Nightlife
Like I said earlier. Ubud isn’t exactly the place to go hunting for proper nightlife, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be stuck sipping tea in your villa either.
There’s a growing scene of bars, lounges, rooftops, and speakeasies that offer a great night out. Just don’t expect to be dancing ‘til 4am like you would in Kuta or Seminyak.
Most places wind down by midnight or shortly after, so the move here is: grab some cocktails, soak up the live music or DJ vibes, and call it a night before the roosters start crowing.
And hey, if it’s your first time in Bali, make sure to check out my guide to safely partying in Bali so you know what to expect (and what to avoid).

I went to NoMas last week. Too loud for me even in my 20s. Blue Door was alright but it was very commerical music , maybe it was just the night I went. Best spot on this list is LOL bar we had fun there. Will check out a few more this weekend! Thanks for the list!
-Dennis
I agree you with, Dennis.
NoMas is rowdy – good or bad depending on what you’re looking for and what time of the night it is.
If you’re on a romantic evening, maybe not the best idea trying to yell in her ears. But definitely a great spot with some friends.
LOL Bar is also a fun casual night with some friendly locals & regulars.
Enjoy and stay safe.
