Batu Karu Kopi Jatiluwih Reviews

The name itself is quite straight-forward: Batu Karu (the mountain it’s facing), and Kopi (Indonesian word for coffee).

So, come for the coffee, stay for the views, and leave wondering why your local cafe back home doesn’t come with a misty mountain, rice terraces and a decent playlist.

How to get to Batu Karu Kopi

Jatiluwih Cycling Tour

Batu Karu Kopi is a popular coffee stop during our Jatiluwih Cycling Tour. It’s a private day tour that starts your day off with a guided e-bike tour through the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. After the cycling portion, you will continue exploring Jatiluwih – including visiting a hidden waterfall.

Private Car and Driver

Another convenient way of getting there is by simply booking a private car and driver for the day. You’ll be in the comfort of your own private, air-conditioned SUV and have the freedom to explore any area of your choosing at your own pace. Our drivers are all knowledgable about every attraction in Bali.

Renting a Scooter

If you are renting a scooter in Bali and travelling light, the journey to Jatiluwih from South Bali is a wonderful ride. Keep in mind, the roads are mostly uphill and winding, so if this will be your first time on a scooter, I wouldn’t recommend it. If you’re already familiar with riding a scooter in Bali, I recommend renting a quality bike from Bikago

Note: These are the only forms of transportation to get to Jatiluwih. While you can take a taxi or Grab / Go Car, it will likely be very expensive and you’ll be better off booking a private car and driver for the same price – plus you’ll have more freedom and time. There are also no public busses that runs through Jatiluwih.

Why is Batu Karu Kopi the Best Cafe in Jatiluwih

Coffee at Batu Karu Kopi Jatiluwih Cafe

Let’s talk about the caffeine. Unlike your average Bali cafe that sources beans from who-knows-where, Batu Karu Kopi proudly serves coffee from their very own farm, just two kilometers away.

This means, every cup of coffee is as fresh as it gets – no middlemen, no unnecessary delays – just pure, farm-to-cup goodness. The organic Arabic beans are grown without synthetic fertilizers, making your latte not only delicious, but also ethically satisfying.

Batu Karu Kopi Menu

In terms of the basics, you’ll have espresso, Americano, cappuccino, and latte. Prices for these range from IDR 25k to 40k – about AUD $2.50 – $4.00 or USD $1.50 – $2.50. Not a bad deal.

Their signature blends showcase their creative side. These will set you back about IDR 45k – won’t break the bank but will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. The Iced Crunchy Caramel Latte is a perfect drink on a hot day.

If coffee isn’t your thing (I won’t judge), you can settle for a hot chocolate, smoother or a fresh fruit juice. They also have a small selection of teas.

Best Restaurants in Jatiluwih

Since their main focus is on coffee, Batu Karu Kopi’s food menu doesn’t have that many selections outside of a few pastries and baked goods. If you’re seeking out a scenic spot for lunch or dinner, here are some of the best restaurants in Jatiluwih:

  • Jatiluwih Resto – Probably the most popular restaurant in Jatiluwih, known for the views.
  • Gong Jatiluwih – Just down the street from Jatiluwih Resto, offering a similar experience.
  • CataVaca Jatiluwih – a bit of a hidden, secluded restaurant away from the main area.

I’ve been in Bali for so long I’ve grown roots (literally and metaphorically). For the past 10 years, I’ve experienced Bali from every angle. I’ve explored the temples, I’ve tried all the food, and I’m proudly fluent in the Indonesian language. I hope our website helps you get an authentic experience for your holiday in Bali, whether you’re here to enjoy the finer things in life, or to learn more about Bali’s rich culture.
